A vintage example of the famous Lamino chair by Yngve Eckstrom (1913-1988) and manufactured by Swedese. First produced in 1956 the chair is now considered a twentieth century classic, and in 1999 it was voted best Swedish chair of the twentieth century. This particular example is made of bent oak with armrest in a contrasting hardwood, a characteristic of the early productions. Besides the Swedes mark branded onto the wooden frame there is unusually a Pastoe sticker. This indicates the possibility that it was marketed in the Netherlands by Pastoe. The original sheepskin upholstery has been replaced but the canvas is original. It shows slight darkening in parts, but only visible from the rear. One of the small supporting brackets on the underside seems to have had an extra hole drilled. Overall this chair is in very good condition for its age.
