Rare and large vintage desk designed by Egon Eiermann for Herman Miller. Two level desk. Table top in walnut veneered with green vinyl. Black coated centre column with chromed aluminum feet. The desk has been made in small series for the Bundestag Bonn or the German federal parliament 1968. 235 cm x 90 x 75 h In a very good vintage condition. May show some slight traces of wear due to age and use. Mainly on the top green vinyl surface and wooden parts. Eiermann was not only appreciated as architect, he also strongly and lastingly influenced the coming generation in furniture design. Eiermann was the first to develop serial furniture in Germany after Second World War, bearing comparison with international standards in form and functionality. It is thanks to him, that Germany after the phase of nationalsocialist isolation could tie in with its past and join the circle of outstanding design nations.
