Large metal floor lamp with silver glass lamp shade and dimmable halogene light. Gianfranco Frattini was an Italian architect and designer. He started working for himself after having worked with Gio Ponti, who was his mentor and teacher in his early years. He became a industrial designer and started working with many famous manufactures and designers like Cesare Cassina, Bernini, Arteluce, Acerbis, Fantoni, Artemide, Luci, Knoll and Lema. He was a member of the board of Triennale, which is a design and art museum in the Parco Sempione in Milan. He created many beautiful items in his career like furniture, lighting and glassware. His glassware is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art and the famous Boalum lamp is in the collection of the Smithsonian, Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum.
